A lecture-demonstration presented in two movements: Part 1 features the anatomy of khyal with real-time visual commentary of a raga performance mapped avartan by avartan. Part 2 presents bandish ki thumri with a curated selection of compositions from the golden age of Lucknow, featuring works by Bindadin Maharaj, Emperor Wajid Ali Shah, and other masters, complete with translations and transliterations.
